MESA Spring Colloquium Series: Dr. Daniel Reinholz (SDSU)

Below in smaller font is the abstract of the talk: This session focuses on the pressing issue of promoting racial and gender justice in undergraduate mathematics education. We will attempt to answer the key question: What is needed to galvanize faculty into action and provide appropriate support to address systemic oppression? Drawing from my work with the EQUIP observation tool (https://www.equip.ninja), I describe my experience working with dozens of faculty members and how providing data analytics describing racialized and gendered patterns of student participation in their classrooms can be an important first step towards the larger changes needed in the academy.

After the abstract is additional event info in italics: Immediately after the talk all students are welcome to join Dr. Reinholz and MESA for an informal conversation via Zoom.
