The Mathematics Education Student Association is an organization of persons individually and collectively dedicated to the improvement of mathematics education at all levels. Through its services and programs, the association seeks to engage and support UGA mathematics education students in community, professional improvement, and academic excellence.
As an affiliate group of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), MESA is a professional organization dedicated to the improvement of mathematics education at all levels. We offer services and programs to provide a forum for the exchange and distribution of information and ideas pertaining to mathematics education. Through the year our board organizes service opportunities, colloquia (we bring in mathematics educators from all over the country to talk to us about current research and issues in mathematics education), social opportunities, and maintain a library of research materials (Begles library). We also publish a journal, The Mathematics Educator (TME). Graduate students are encouraged to get involved with reviewing and editing.
